I want it to be my motto for the next 350 something days left. I'm not complaining about 2009 because I got to travel to La la land, Cancuun, Spain, Italy, and Greece. I went to many concerts such as Paramore, No Doubt, The Killers, Blink 182, etc. I saw some plays/musicals/cirque du soleil Avenue Q, Wicked, Spring Awakening, Rent, LOVE, KA. Went to several Kings games. That filled my recreational needs but I didn't achieve any personal growth as an individual and that is very disappointing. I don't blame 2009 but I'm not for odd years. I'm looking forward to 2010 to renew my outlook and feel some self-worth that I've been lacking recently. It doesn't help when I have these "ghosts" telling me what I should do. I'm in a rut and I know I am the only one to pull myself out of this but I don't appreciate being kicked down just because I'm not living up to everyone's expectation. It's bad enough I can't sleep because I'm trying to figure out my life. I can't wait to find my peace because I feel like I'm changing into something else thats not me anymore. That is why I need 2010 to be good to me because I need it and I'm going to strive to become myself again and hopefully better version.

That's not to say I'm not going to fill my recreational needs as well because it what keeps me sane. Unfortunately, I will not be traveling as much which sucks because I think I'm addicted to it. I don't have the funds for it. I definitely have to go to concerts because music takes me to another place. But of course I need to surround myself with great people to make great memories.

Setting goals in general is hard. I'm quite hard on myself and if I don't reach them it could be detrimental to me. But I just want a clearer path in life. I want to be healthier inside and out. I want to work on relationships that are worth working on. I just want to be.

Am I asking for too much as usual?

Bittersweet Symphony

"I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down."
-The Verve
This past weekend was bittersweet. I went to my childhood friend of 16 years wedding. A whole range of emotions swept through me that day. I think I was more emotional than she was but thats because I'm such a sensitive baby. I kept thinking about our younger years and all the memories good or bad that we've created. I feel like life has passed me by and its sorta sad in a way because things are really changing. I'm am super happy and excited about the new phase in her life and one day hopefully I'll be able to join her.

Besides being sentimental I was super stressed and nervous about making my bridesmaid speech. I felt anxiety all day and it kinda ruined me enjoying everything as I kept thinking about the speech. I think guys have it easy all the time. They seem to just throw things together and it sounds good. I worked on it for about a week and still didn't think it was good and the whole public speaking thing is not my forte. I got an A in public speaking but that was like 30 people... 150+ people no bueno. The second before it was turn my heart wanted to burst through my chest. I was thinking 'great this is how my life ends.' Luckily I'm still alive to write this post. It went better than I expected. People laughed at all the spots that I thought they should and thats all you can really ask for right? I did panic for a bit when I totally forgot what I was going to say next and had to pause for a bit. Other than that don't expect me to post the video. I've already warned some people that is my first and last speech I'm ever giving at a wedding.... unless you pay me. So consider yourself lucky bestfriend.

Everyone's At It

"I'm not trying to say that I'm smelling of roses. Here's my dos centavos. Frankly, I don't find it surprising. I don't like Kanye as a person but I like his music. So the only time I ever want to hear him say anything is when he's rapping or auto-tune singing. What he did was stupid but it definitely was blown out of proportion. First of all its just the VMAs not the Grammys. So he didn't need to get worked up about it. Too bad MTV thrives on that sort of drama. Whether its good or bad publicity its still publicity so all parties involved benefit in some way. Maybe wiring his jaw shut again might help but that's how he got famous in the first place. All I know is his childish outbursts are getting tiring to hear... you hear me you egotistical troubled soul? Btw wth 'Lil Mama? MTV needs to consider having stage security for future shows. In fact MTV needs to play music videos in general.

I hope people have been watching GLEE on Fox. I love it. It's very refreshing and encompasses everything I love which is music. It's like High School Musical but they don't randomly break out into song... that often. I'm so excited to see what other songs they'll cover over the season. *Crosses fingers* for another season. Sucks that the Asian girl has to have a stuttering problem. But for some strange reason the people I know that have that problem are Asian. I wish we had Glee Club at our High School. I would've totally not joined but admired from afar.

Enough with the realities and competition type shows. Let our actors have jobs instead of letting regular people achieve their dreams or 15 minutes of fame. Lets bring back creativity and imagination. Ok I do watch a reality/documentary shows but Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth are so fascinating and scary at the same time. However, I can only watch them if Matt or someone else is around because paranormal stuff is no joke. What's that behind you?

Ignorance

"You treat me just like another stranger.... ignorance is your new best friend."
-Paramore
I'm mad at technology. It ruins relationships between people. I'm not going to say that I don't need it because I am very dependent on it but I at least know when to use and not to use it. It's just everything seems so impersonal now. No one wants to call so they rather text you or message you on facebook, myspace, or aim. Yes its convenient but in certain situations I prefer to hear an actual voice. I figure it's just common sense to know what medium of techonology to use when trying to contact someone about certain things. I guess it reveals how much or little people really care.

It's a bit frustrating when you find out important life decisions from people when they post it on some social network to share with everyone when you thought you were good enough friends in the first place for them to personally make that call and tell you themselves. It's a bit frustrating when someone is asking you for a favor and they can't directly ask you. I don't care that your excuse is that you're too busy because that is total bullshit. You're not too busy you're inconsiderate. You obviously don't care because really that time you spent texting me, IMing me, or what not you could've called as well. Maybe you were doing it at work then why don't you wait until you get off of work and actually be doing your work? Oh you're busy after work? Well tell me before you go to bed. What? That might be too late to call. Excuses ... excuses. Face it you don't care and it makes me care less about you. No one is that busy. Stop being selfish and making excuses about not having time. I suppose your too busy on the weekends as well? Well I'm busy too. I'm busy ignoring you so have fun with that being your new friend.

Another thing is I'm not reading your tweets. I don't get it and I don't care for it. Thats what facebook status is for. Don't link your tweet stats to your facebook either because I don't really need to know what you're doing every minute of your life. The only tweets I read are celebrity tweets because lets face it they're a 100 more times interesting because they're famous. For all I care you and Britney or Justin could tweet about the same damn thing and I could care less about yours because you're a nobody. If I ever make an account I'd just follow celebs and companies because they offer me entertainment and deals. You offer me nothing. Personally I'm all for blogs because I like it when people take the time to express themselves. None of this too busy or lazy so let me just type what I'm doing in 200 words or less. Talk about who needs to get a life.

Ok saying you're a nobody is a bit harsh but you get the point. That totally felt good to rant for once... now back to normal. I know be mad at me for not updating often because you know I'm busy and all...

Spiralling

"When we fall in love we're just falling in love with ourselves." -Keane
I know I've been horrible at this. But I do have somewhat of an excuse. I was in Europe for 3 weeks but I've also been back for almost 3 weeks. I will post my daily dabbles of what I did on my trip in the next post or so. Right now I just wanted to check in so that all my avid fans wouldn't get disappointed in seeing the same old post.

But let me just say that my cell phone and ipod died in Europe. It's uber sad and it's not like I need to spend money to replace them. So I downgraded to an old phone that works on and off. I'm borrowing Matthew's iTouch for the time being. Not only did things die I lost my home keys and my brother's apartment keys not in Europe but back here. It's a shocker because I don't lose things or not for long. To top it off I come back and all of these celebrities have passed away. I think it was an omen for me to stay in Europe a bit longer. I mean if I have to travel to keep celebrities alive then I'll do it!

So I've been collecting vinyl toys sorta... ok not really but I would like to although they'd just sit on the shelf collecting dusts. But really I'm just obsessed with my dead cat!

Just this past saturday I went to midtown Sac for Second Saturday and ran into a vinyl toy shop on J street! So I can get my fix and stare at the cool toys! Here's their website Dragatomi. Oh I want to plug in my friend's art website. Check it out NECK.

Amazing

"No matter what, you'll never take that from me. Seriously this years NBA playoffs have been extremely enjoyable to watch. I've never been so into since the Kings were last in it and that always ends in heartbreak. The Lakers vs. Magic is going to be good. I want Magic to win they deserve it. No one saw them coming. The Cavs thought they were going to sweep their way into finals. But I knew the way I saw the Magic fight their way past The Celtics that they were underrated and a force to be reckon with. I'm not a fan of Lebron at all but I must admit he is talented and has deemed himself worthy of being called The King, sorta, maybe Prince is more suitable. But I think Superman is just as good and the team doesn't heavily rely on just him. The Cavs are nothing without their star player because they definitely couldn't support him when he wasn't at his best. Time to get a Superman jersey. Please don't get traded anytime soon or it'll be collecting dust along with my Peja jersey haha. Actually I'm just super happy that The Celtics aren't in it because I am no fan on anyone on that team. I look forward to the finals win or lose its going to be good. As much as I like and respect Kobe and as much as I would like the West Coast to win... Lets go Magic! I called it and wanted it to be a Lakers vs Magic match-up. So amazing.

The only time I can ever brag after so many years of picking teams that lose. I'm going to relish in it as long as I can because gosh darn it I deserve to! Just let me have this one thanks.

Anyway I haven't been keeping up with the French Open because I'm not fans of the Williams sisters and the US doesn't have a comparable male to face up against Federer or Nadal. I like Roddick but he is not match for those two. Oh Pete Sampras how I miss thee I hecka buy tourna grip for my tennis racquet because of you. I also miss Steffi Graf and Martina Hingis.

In other sports news go Yanks! Keep winning so you can stick it to the Bosox. Also, go Giants because I grew up going to their games with my papa and brother. But I as I grew I acquired the taste for Yanks and Jeter.

This is gross all I talked about was sports.

Fight for Love

"When you got a love and it's good like it should be. It was a pleasant day. Weather was beautiful. Sales aplenty. Played around with the new camcorder Canon Vixia HF200. Tried to get familiar with the dSLR again.

Ate some steak.

The day was going pretty smooth until I got back home and remembered to pay my respects to the Nikester. Then I cried thinking about how much has changed since his passing and cried some more because I think I'm the only person who cries whenever they think about their beloved deceased pet. But then I remember back at Davis my Animal Science 42 Intro to Companion Animal Care a guest speaker went into the emotional affects owners deal with upon their beloved pets passing. It takes an average of 6 years for owners to usually get over a pet they've loved. I think it'll be a lifetime with Nike maybe less whenever I decide to get a new pet because your first will always have a special place in your heart according to me. Let it be known thats the only thing I remember from Davis.

Anyway here are some random music I like:

Addeboy vs. Cliff "Beep my Beep." The song is cool. It gets the brain dancing. The video is very euro. I like this other Swedish group but that's next time. Them Swedisih people are cool like swedish fish candy.

Rob Roy "Fur in my Cap." This is the dawning of the rest of our lives. On holiday.
-Green Day

I know you're probably mad at me for not updating enough and I apologize. I don't even have an excuse either. I promise I will blog almost everyday this week about random stuff to make it up to you. Today will be short and sweet.

Magic are 2-1 baby! Should be 3-0 but the playoffs have been exciting. Yeah, it's like that.

Too bad about the Kings with 4th pick. There's always never for us. Hey at least we have had a championship team the Monarchs! Oh and the Rivercats. One day our day will come... one day.

On a heavier note as you shop and take advantage of the sales this weekend take a moment to remember. Let's not forget the real reason why we have this holiday. Big thanks to the men and women who have and are serving for our country. Your sacrifice is always appreciated and never forgotten.

On an even heavier note for me tomorrow marks Nike's 4th anniversay. I can't believe he has been gone that many years. It has gotten a bit easier like I don't cry everyday just everyother. He will always have a part of me and I will always have that emptiness.
Chocolate helps to cope but not a chocolate inhaler. This is for those wanting to eat but not actually eat chocolate whatever that means. I got a sneak preview and I am very pleased of what I heard. It does have a more produced sound due to them being on a major label but lyrically it is very much them. I love me some MaD.

I've Dia's explaination to the background of the songs she wrote. It's so deep. Deeper than my tub. It's nice to know the concept of the song rather than trying to dissect it yourself only to fail. I like 'Black Wedding' alot well the story behind it more so. I can relate to this song because it's somewhat how I feel. The song is mostly about religion and weddings haha. It's not bashing people who are religious but I do like the line 'Dumb people swore they saw the Devil'. She wrote how kids basically are born into their religion so if your family is something you're more than likely become that and your family doesn't allow you to explore your own ideas, which is true. She also points out how 3/4 marriages end in divorces due to quick engagments due to people's lack of patience. Also, the fact that people will pray for frivolous things when there are others suffering. But the song is also about her being loss and not 'belonging' to a certain relgion. Ultimately the song is about endless searching and being blind to everything around you. I can relate and I feel the same in every aspect. It is a a sarcastic song but anyway deep stuff man you should read her blog. Meg and Dia are the only good things to come from Utah. 'We see our mirrors from outside'

Something random: I like to mix my cereals. I wonder if anyone else does? It's fun having multiple flavors in one bite. I mixed my fiber one and frosted flakes together. Next I shall mix fruity pebbles and apple jacks. I can't wait!

I've been thinking a lot about success and what it means. I still haven't come to a conclusion. Is success making a lot of money? Is it earning that degree? Is it achieving your goals? Is it just being happy? Or is success whatever you make it out to be? Because if it is then I'd consider myself successful for almost being alive for 25 years. Can you have more than 1 dream? What if I achieved my dream but want more? What if now that I have that degree I want to veer off into another direction and become something totally opposite of that degrees I earned? I feel like theres no time or I'm not motivated or I'm not smart enough. Maybe I'll be one of those parents who force their kids to become something they weren't able to become. Yeah, I think thats what I'll do. Wow, thank goodness I settled that. No more sleepless nights for me. Hallelujah!

That Green Gentleman

"I want go where everyone goes. I want to know what everyone knows. I want to go where everyone feels the same"
-Panic at the Disco
Last night was the series finale of ER. Let the demise of television begin for me at least. Ugh, all my shows are gone. I was sad over Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, The L Word, and now ER. Ok Dawson's Creek went down hill but I still loved it. Gilmore Girls I guess it had to an come to end. The L Word's last season was horrible and the finale was a disgrace to the whole series. ER probably had the best ending. Nothing really happened haha. I mean in the end they are still doctors trying to save lives and thats how it ended. A lot of the characters storylines got resolved before the finale which is clever and didn't have to ram it down all at the end. No, I didn't get into ER really until I found out an actress I liked was going to be part of the cast, Parminder Nagra. To most of you she is the actress in Bend It Like Beckham. But also Linda Cardellini was in it which was a plus. She was in the short-lived show Freaks and Geeks and was Velma in the Scooby Doo Movies. I mean John Stamos joined the cast who would've thought Uncle Jesse from Full House could do anything else? I did stop after a few seasons and started to get into Grey's Anatomy then stopped that after a couple seasons. As soon as I found out it was going to be ER's last season I tuned it and became a fan once again. The last season's storylines really kept me interested. But I don't know if it was the fact that it was the last season and I was anticipating how they were going to end the series or if it was just that good. All I know is that ER is way better than Grey's Anatomy. I said it. I give Grey's 5 more seaons tops and thats being generous. Now I hafta download the last 6 seaons of ER and re-watch it and if I get adventurous enough I'll start from the beginning. Oh the finale also had Alexis Bledel! I had to do a double take. What was Rory from Gilmore Girls doing on there!? She had a pretty big part and lots of lines for it being her first and last appearance on the show. Made me want them to have another season so she could be apart of the cast. I guess it was because Gilmore Girls and ER shot on the same studio lot in Burbank. Well good thing I got a tour of the lot before both series ended and them tearing down the sets. But I am forever sad for television.

Season 15 main cast probably my fav.
Well for drama at least I have nothing to watch. I've been watching One Tree Hill but it's getting old and they take too many hiatuses it's getting annoying. I won't watch Gossip Girls or 90210 I figure no more watching about high school life unless it's super interesting. Theres always reality shows but The Hills is in the last season and I always feel like I'm getting dumber watching any type of reality. There are some good comedies but I feel like I can just jump in anytime I want to watch. Even though they do have character storylines you can still just jump in and most of the time it's an episode by episode plot line and rarely a story arc type plot.

I guess the only type of dramas are not on regular television but on HBO and Showtime which I don't get and hafta download. I've been behind on Weeds and Entourage but I feel no rush to catch up so soon cuz I'm sure I can catch up in no time. Dexter I've caught a couple of episodes and it's not bad. Tudors is interesting but not sure it's my cup of tea. I heard True Blood and Big Love are pretty good and might hafta check them out.

I hate being on the comp so many hours and not that being on the tv is any better but I want to have that feeling again where I am anticipating for my favorite to come on week to week. I do have several completed dvd sets of some television series such as Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls and up to date with Weeds. All which only a couple are open. I like to stare at them in my room. I also have the first season of One Tree Hill which I don't feel like completing so iono why I even bothered. I have only season 2 of Party of Five haha anyone remember that show? I used to be a big fan but I think they aren't going to release to full series on dvd due to lack of sales. I have seaon 1 of Grey's when I liked it. Season 1 of L Word I don't know why either. Oh and my dad bought me two seaons of Laguna Beach which I am ashamed to have.

So if anyone has a suggestion for a show for me to watch I'd consider it but I'm picky. I mean american shows too no jdramas or foreign stuff unless it's Canadian or British or at least they speak english. Until then tv you're dead to me.

Animato

"Lifes messy so I clarify it. Simplifying things for everybody."
-Utada Hikaru
The A Z Ns are coming to America. The boat has come ashore to unleash some of Asia's biggest music stars. This should be very interesting but its been a long time coming. It would be better if it were Asian American's breaking into the scene because they would be more relatable but we take what we can get. Some of the lyrics are weird. Their accents and pronounciation can make it difficult to take the song seriously. Also, when they do English interviews since they don't fully understand they reply back weird answers. The only exception is Utada because she was born here and learned English.

First up, Utada. Unlike a lot of people I did like her first english album, Exodus. I thought the beats and lyrics were fine. Well 'Easy Breezy' was catchy but definately not my favorite of hers. Of course it can never be like her Japanese songs which seem so poetic even though I have no idea what she's saying. People forget that translating any language to English or vice versa theres going to be limitations on what you can actually do. Anyway so I'm excited for her new English album and I hope it's good. So far some of the singles are pretty good but you can tell and she has stated in interviews that she's going more mainstream. Definately hear r&b but the way she sings it is still very Utada. Of course I love her Japanese songs more because they have so much beauty. I could go on forever about it. So I wish her luck on her second attempt. I want to see you in concert. I can't embed her video on here but here's the link to "Come Back to Me" her first single. Her album drops March 24th!

Next, BoA. Oh BoA you're like the princess of pop of Asia. You're cute, you dance, you sing upbeat songs and heartfelt songs. You've seemed to make it into every Asian boy's heart and now you want to try and tug at the hearts of Americans. I like BoA when I feel like being in a chipper mood and want to see some dancing that Utada doesn't provide. Her first single, I'll Eat You Up, sounds like a safe song to start with but I don't see it being catchy enough for airplay on American radio. "I Did it for Love" sounds better. Hopefully, she can make some sort of dent into American music. Album drops today March 17th. Happy St. Patty's Day.

Lastly, Se7en. I found him a bit after BoA. I decided I needed to find some male Asian singers. To me he's like an asian Justin Timberlake or Usher. But with the new American song he release he reminds me of Jesse McCartney haha iono. But boy did he get handsome. I don't know about some of the lyrics to "Girls". Like "Trying make you my accessory. All girls are necessary." and "Im kinda like MJ I like them black or white." Even in the video he has only black and white girls. No love for us yellows. Impressive he got 'Lil Kim even though she hasn't been hot in the game for awhile. One thing about Se7en is that he loves to advertise his name within his songs. I still like him since he's cute. I don't know when his album drops.

Well I guess time will tell if anyone come out of this successful. Ok I'm just excited their cd comes out in April. They'll be performing at The Fillmore on Thursday. I want to go but prefer if they were headlining instead or toured with other bands I like.

Ego

"I got a big ego, such a huge ego. My dad's doc wants him to monitor his blood pressure for a month. So we three decided to do it. Let me add we did this right after eating cheese steak for dinner but I doubt that affected the results in such a short time span. The new ones have cool animation but nothing beats the old stuff with music. The only recent Disney creation I've liked is High School Musical. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Desktop for heavy duty tasks such as downloading, photoshopping, and gaming. That's what I have at home and it's great. I think its prolonged the longevity of both too. Might as well keep watching since I know the storylines.

Winter Song

"They say were buried far, just like a distant star I simply cannot hold. Is love alive?"
-Ingrid Michaelson & Sara Bareilles
I was checking out other blogsites and man some of them look cool. I like the simplicity here but the other sites look so tempting. Or maybe I don't know how to use this site well enough to make it cool.

Anyway I'm super stoked that Paramore and No Doubt are touring together! It's going to be awesome. I haven't had the opportunity to see any of them in concert so I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I've been a hardcore Paramore fan (parawhore) since the beginning. Hayley Williams is the future for girl-fronted rock bands even though she doesn't want to be labled like that. Their songs are addicting. I can't wait for their new album. No Doubt are legends and my 'Tragic Kingdom' cd is so worn down from when I religously played it. They said they'll probably have a new album in 2010 so that'll be something to look forward to.

I've currently been waiting more for Meg and Dia's 'Here, Here and Here' album. They keep pushing back the date. I love them. I can listen to their music anytime. Glad I got to see them in concert and took a picture with them. I like their music, lyrics, and style. Plus, them being part asian (korean) makes them a winner. Being an asian that can sing, play instruments, rock out and actually look cool is rare. Must be the part white in them though. Oh and they're sisters but not twins and lesbians don't confuse them with Tegan and Sara.
Can my brother please marry one of them so I can be their sister-in-law? They sorta have a Jessica Alba look to them. Even more reasons to like them!

Although I have a lot of songs I like from them since they all sound different and evoke different meanings I must say 'Roses' is on the top. I decided to bid adieu to xanga although it has been my home of blabbing for many years. It is time to start anew so be prepared. Most of my post titles will be song titles followed by some lyrics since I am oh so very inspired by music. Listen to my playlist of awesome songs by awesome artists that I listen to. Check it out and you too can be awesome.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make my page best represent who I am. So be patient as I tweak around and figure out how everything works.

In the mean time here are a few photos from my recent trip to Cancun. Maybe I'll touch up on the trip next time and add more photos but enjoy for now.
